Citizen Amendment Act 2019: For the last few hours, there has been a lot of discussion about CAA in social media and news. CAA i.e. Amended Citizenship Act (Citizen Amendment Act 2019) has been implemented by the Government of India. Through this, the government will now provide Indian nationality to those immigrants from non-Muslim i.e. Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who have come to India without any document till 31 December 2014.
Government launched new platform
Now for this, the Home Ministry of the Government of India has launched an online web portal on March 12, through which such people can apply online to get Indian citizenship through the CAA law. Along with this web portal, the government has also created an app for it, named CAA It is 2019.

Through this new web portal and app, people can get details of all the rules, regulations, questions and documents to get Indian citizenship. Apart from this, people can also get online help through this platform. If you are a refugee and want to apply online to get Indian citizenship through this platform, then you can follow the steps given below:
Follow this process
- The refugee will first have to go to this online portal or app of the Government of India launched for CAA.
- As soon as you open this platform, you will get all the information about this new law. After reading them, scroll down.
- In the section of online services, you will find a link to get citizenship through CAA, click on it.
- After clicking it, a new page or interface will open. Now you have to log in. For this you can enter your phone number or email ID.
- After that you will have to write the captcha shown below.
- Now you have to click on the option of Continue.

After that, if you are already registered for CAA, then as soon as you press the Continue button, an OTP will be sent to your registered phone number or email ID. To submit it and apply, you will have to complete the further process.
If you are new and have not registered for CAA, then OTP will not be sent to your phone number or email. In such a situation you will be instructed to sign up. You must first sign up by following the guidelines shown on the screen and then follow the subsequent process of login. In this way you can apply to get Indian citizenship through the Indian Citizenship online portal.
